Hi, I’m Kristen Yielding, LPC, RYT-200
And I’m truly glad you’re here.
Therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re used to taking care of everyone else or just carrying a lot on your own while managing stress and emotional overwhelm for a long time.
Kosha Connect was created to be a calming, intentional space for people who are stretched thin but still striving. I wanted a practice that views mental health through a whole-person perspective of mind, body, and spirit. Here, healing is not rushed, and you don’t have to change who you are to feel better. Instead, we work together to create more clarity, resilience, and ease in your everyday life.
Who I Work With
I work primarily with adults who are:
Feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or persistent worry
Facing depression, low motivation, or emotional heaviness
Navigating life transitions, grief, or loss
Struggling with burnout, stress, or emotional exhaustion
Healing from trauma and its long-term impacts
Strengthening self-worth and working through shame
Whether this is your first time considering therapy or you’ve tried it before, I aim to create a space where your experience is heard, not judged, and where healing feels grounded and realistic.
About
My Approach
Therapy with me is:
Warm and collaborative: You are the expert on your own life; I’m here to support you, not direct you.
Client-centered: We tailor the work to your pace and needs, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Holistic and grounded: I combine traditional therapeutic skills with mindfulness, breathwork, and body-based awareness when it feels helpful. These are tools to calm the nervous system and support embodied healing and is not something you have to adopt unless it resonates with you.
Evidence-informed: While I draw on holistic frameworks like the koshas for self-exploration, the core of what I offer is rooted in established psychological practice that helps people feel less stuck and more capable of change.
Why This Work Matters to Me
I became a therapist because I believe healing isn’t just about addressing symptoms, it’s about reconnecting with your whole self and discovering strength you may have forgotten you had. Many people I work with are dependable, empathetic, and resourceful, yet often feel tired of saving everyone but themselves. If that feels familiar, you’re not alone and there’s a way through.
I’m also LGBTQIA+ affirming and practice with cultural humility and genuine respect for diverse identities and life experiences.
What You Can Expect
Reaching out for therapy can bring up questions like:
What does my first session look like?
How does therapy actually help?
Is it okay if I don’t know where to start?
Those are normal questions and we can explore them together in a free 15-minute consultation if you’re curious but unsure. There’s no pressure. This is about finding the right fit for you.
